Studio Guide & Class Policies
This guide is the single reference for how the studio runs — what each level means, what equipment we teach on, what packages cost, and the booking, cancellation and safety policies that apply to everyone. There is nothing to fill in or return. Prices and timings below are indicative; the figures on your booking confirmation are the ones that bind us.
Levels are about vocabulary and pace, not about how strong or flexible you are. Choose the level where you can hear the cue, find the shape and still breathe.
- Foundation — postures broken down and held. No prior experience assumed. Recommended for your first three months.
- Open flow — continuous sequences with a simpler and a stronger option offered for every shape.
- Intermediate vinyasa — assumes fluency in sun salutations, inversions taught progressively, less cueing throughout.
- Restorative and yin — long supported holds. Suitable at any level, including during injury recovery.
- Mat foundation — breath, pelvic and rib placement, the classical repertoire taught slowly.
- Mat intermediate — flowing transitions, small equipment, longer sequences without a reset between exercises.
- Reformer foundation — required before any other reformer class. Covers safe setup, springs, straps and the safety chain.
- Reformer flow — assumes the foundation course. Maximum six students so every carriage is watched.
- Barre conditioning — ballet-derived strength work at the barre. No dance background required.
- Beginner ballet — positions, port de bras and simple centre work on the sprung floor.
- Contemporary — floor work, travelling phrases and improvisation. Assumes some movement training.
- Repertory — by invitation, for students preparing a piece for the studio showcase.
Section 2 — Equipment & Spaces
- Studio One — sprung floor with a mirrored wall and fixed barres, used for all dance and barre classes.
- Studio Two — warm matted room for yoga and mat Pilates. Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets and light weights provided.
- Reformer room — six reformers with boxes, jump boards and long and short straps. Grip socks required, no exceptions.
- All shared props are wiped down after use with the spray provided and returned to their shelf.
- Equipment faults are reported to reception immediately and the machine is taken out of service until checked.
Section 3 — Packages & Pricing
One credit books one group class of any style. Reformer classes draw two credits. Private sessions are booked separately.

Section 4 — Booking, Waitlist & Late Arrival
- The timetable opens fourteen days ahead. Every class must be booked in advance — we cannot guarantee a space to walk-ins.
- When a class is full, join the waitlist. Places are released in order and you are moved in automatically, with a notification.
- Waitlist places released less than two hours before the class are optional — if you cannot make it, decline and no credit is used.
- Doors close at the start time. Late arrivals cannot be admitted to mat or reformer classes; safety briefings and warm-ups cannot be skipped.
- Arrive ten minutes early for your first class at the studio, and for any first reformer session.
Section 5 — Cancellation & No-Show
- Group classes — cancel at least twelve hours ahead and the credit returns automatically.
- Reformer and private sessions — cancel at least twenty-four hours ahead. These are small-capacity slots that rarely refill.
- Late cancellations and no-shows use the credit. Unlimited members incur a late-cancel fee, which keeps the waitlist honest.
- Illness and genuine emergencies are handled case by case. Tell us as soon as you can and we will do the right thing.
- Repeated no-shows may lead to advance-booking limits so that spaces reach students who will use them.
Section 6 — Pauses, Transfers & Expiry
- Packages may be paused once, for up to four weeks, on written request before the pause begins.
- Medical pauses of any length are granted with a note from a doctor or physiotherapist, and are never counted against the single-pause rule.
- Credits are personal and cannot be shared, but one class per package may be gifted to a guest, with reception notified in advance.
- Expiry dates are shown on your account and in your student record. Unused credits expire and are not refundable.
- Unlimited memberships renew monthly and may be cancelled with fourteen days notice before the next renewal date.
- Refunds are given only where the studio cannot deliver the classes purchased.
Section 7 — Injury, Pregnancy & Safety
- Tell your instructor before every class about any injury, condition or flare-up, even one we already have on record.
- Pregnant students are welcome. Please let us know your stage, and expect modifications from the first trimester onward.
- We ask for medical clearance after surgery, a fracture, a cardiac event, or for high-risk pregnancy before you return to class.
- Postpartum students are guided back through restorative and foundation classes first, whatever their level before birth.
- Hands-on adjustments are always optional and consent is asked for, not assumed. Use the consent card at the door if you prefer not to speak up.
- Pain is a stop signal. Come out of the shape, tell the instructor, and take the modification — nobody is watching and nobody minds.
- Instructors are movement teachers, not clinicians. Nothing taught here is medical advice or physiotherapy.
Section 8 — Hygiene & Studio Etiquette
- Shoes off at the entrance. Grip socks in the reformer room, bare feet or grip socks elsewhere.
- Wipe down your mat, machine and every prop you touched before you leave the room.
- Come scent-free. Strong perfume, oils and sprays are difficult for others in a warm, shared, closed room.
- Phones stay silent and outside the studio room. No filming or photography of other students, ever.
- The studio room is quiet from the moment you step in. Conversation belongs in the lobby.
- Leaving early is fine — set up near the door and go quietly before the final rest begins.
- Please stay home if you are unwell or contagious. Tell us and we will look after the credit.
- Valuables are your own responsibility. Lockers are provided; the studio cannot accept liability for belongings.
Section 9 — Substitutions & Class Cancellation
- Teachers occasionally change. A substitute is always qualified in the same style and reads your student record before teaching.
- Known substitutions are posted on the timetable as early as possible; a substitution is not grounds for a free late cancellation.
- A class may be cancelled if fewer than three students are booked two hours before the start. Everyone booked keeps their credit.
- If we cancel for any reason — weather, illness, building works — you are notified by app and email, and the credit is returned in full.
- The timetable is reviewed each term. Changes are announced at least two weeks before they take effect.
This guide is general studio information, not medical advice. If you are unsure whether a class suits you right now, speak to your instructor or your doctor before booking.
