Web Design Services & Process Guide
This guide explains what our studio does, how a website project runs from first call to launch, what each package includes, how long things typically take, and how revisions and support work. It is a reference document — there is nothing to fill in or return. Prices and timelines are indicative; the figures that bind us are the ones stated in your signed project agreement.
Section 1 — Service Packages
| | |
|---|
| New businesses needing a credible presence fast | Up to 5 pages, mobile-responsive design, contact form, basic on-page SEO |
| Established firms that want to generate leads and publish content | 5–15 pages, CMS so you can edit, blog, custom design system, analytics setup |
| Brands selling products or services online | Catalogue, cart, checkout, payments, order flow, plus everything in Business |
| Organisations with bespoke features or integrations | Scoped to requirements — memberships, portals, third-party integrations, custom apps |
Section 2 — How a Project Runs
- Discovery. We meet to understand your goals, audience and content, then agree scope and a fixed quote.
- Agreement & deposit. You sign the project agreement and pay the deposit. This books your slot in our schedule.
- Structure & wireframes. We map the pages and layout so we agree on structure before any visual design begins.
- Design. We present the visual design for key pages, refine it with you, and lock the look and feel.
- Build. We develop the approved design into a responsive, working site and load your content.
- Review & revisions. You test the staging site and we work through your feedback within the included revision rounds.
- Launch. We check performance, SEO basics and links, then take the site live and confirm everything works.
- Handover & aftercare. We hand over access, show you how to edit, and settle you into support or a care plan.
Section 3 — What's Included
- A mobile-first, responsive design that works across phones, tablets and desktops
- Accessible, standards-based markup and sensible page speed out of the box
- On-page SEO fundamentals — titles, meta descriptions, headings, sitemap
- A staging link so you can review before anything goes live
- A short training handover and documentation for editing your content
- Copywriting and professional photography (available as add-ons)
- Domain, hosting and third-party subscription fees — these are billed by their providers
- Ongoing maintenance and content updates after launch — covered by a separate care plan
- New features or pages beyond the agreed scope — quoted separately as a change
Section 4 — Typical Timelines
Timelines assume content is ready and feedback comes back within a few business days. Delays in content or approvals move the launch date.
| | |
|---|
| | |
| | Page count, custom design, content volume |
| | Product data, payments, shipping setup |
| | Feature complexity and integrations |
Section 5 — Revision Policy
- Each project includes a set number of revision rounds at the design stage and again after the build — stated in your agreement.
- A round means one consolidated set of feedback, gathered from your side, sent to us together.
- Revisions cover refinements within the agreed scope — copy tweaks, colour and spacing, layout adjustments.
- A change of direction after a stage is approved, or new pages and features, is a new scope item and is quoted before we start.
- Extra rounds beyond those included are billed at our hourly rate, always agreed in writing first.
Section 6 — Frequently Asked Questions
Do I own the finished website?
Yes. Once the project is paid in full, the deliverables created for you are yours. We keep ownership of our pre-existing tools and licence them to you as part of the site.
Can I edit the site myself after launch?
On CMS-based packages, yes — we build so non-developers can update text and images, and we train you at handover.
Who pays for hosting and the domain?
You do, directly to the provider, so the accounts stay in your name. We are happy to recommend options and set everything up.
What happens if we go over the timeline?
Most slippage comes from content and approvals. We keep the schedule visible and flag early if a target date is at risk, so there are no surprises.
Do you look after the site after launch?
Yes — through a care plan that covers updates, backups, security and small changes. It is optional but recommended to keep your site healthy.
This guide is general information about how we work and is not a contract. The scope, price and dates that apply to you are the ones in your signed project agreement.
