This handbook explains how tutoring works with us — how sessions run, how to book, cancel and make up a lesson, what we charge, and how we keep you in the loop. There is nothing to fill in or send back. Keep it handy and check back whenever a question comes up.
Every student starts with a short assessment so we know where they are and where they want to get to. From there we match them with a tutor and set a regular weekly slot. Sessions are built around your student, not a fixed script — we adjust pace, topics and difficulty as they progress.
- One-on-one, small group (2–6 students) and online formats are all available.
- Standard sessions run 60 or 90 minutes; the length is agreed when you enroll.
- Your student keeps the same tutor wherever possible, so progress carries from week to week.
- We review goals each term and adjust the plan together.
Booking, Cancellation & Makeup
Regular slots are held for your student each week. When something comes up, the earlier you tell us the more easily we can rearrange.
- Cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice and the session can be made up within the same month at no charge.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, and no-shows, are charged in full.
- If a tutor ever needs to cancel, the session is rescheduled or credited in full.
- Makeup sessions are subject to tutor availability — we offer the nearest suitable slot.
- Arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean a shortened session, still charged at the full rate.
The rates below are indicative. Your exact fees are confirmed in your enrollment agreement.
- Fees can be paid up front for the term, in monthly installments, or per session billed weekly in advance.
- A one-time registration and materials fee may apply at enrollment; it is non-refundable.
- Invoices are issued at the start of each billing cycle and are due within seven days.
- A full refund is available within seven days of enrollment, before any session has been delivered.
Tutoring works best when it connects to what happens at school and at home. Our approach is steady practice, honest feedback and building confidence before exams.
- Tutors set short, focused practice between sessions and review it at the next lesson.
- For exam terms, we work from past papers, timed practice and a topic checklist tied to the syllabus.
- We flag gaps early rather than at the last minute, so there is time to close them.
- Please send us upcoming test dates and school assignments so we can align the plan.
Communication & Progress Updates
- You receive a brief note after each session summarising what was covered.
- A fuller written progress report is shared each term.
- Parent meetings can be booked at any point — just ask the front desk or your tutor.
- We reply to messages within one business day.
- Please arrive a few minutes early so sessions start on time.
- Students bring their own books, notes and a charged device for online sessions.
- Phones are set to silent and put away during sessions unless the tutor asks for one.
- We keep a calm, respectful space — tutors, students and families all help maintain it.
- Let us know in advance about any access, health or learning needs so we can prepare.
This guide describes our general policies and may be updated from time to time; the terms in your signed enrollment agreement always take precedence. Questions are welcome any time.
